Honolulu Marathon Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 at 5 A.M.

Attention Residents

A cannon will announce the start of the race at 5:00 a.m. and they have scheduled a two minute fireworks show off of Ala Moana Park, at the start of the race.

The race will start on Ala Moana Blvd., near the intersection of Queen Street & Ala Moana. On Sunday morning, Dec. 14, 2008, at about 12:45 a.m., Ala Moana Blvd., fronting Nauru Tower, or more specifically, all 6 lanes of Ala Moana Blvd., between Atkinson Drive and Ward Avenue, will be closed to vehicular traffic. All vehicular traffic westbound on Ala Moana Blvd. will be detoured up Atkinson Blvd., beginning at about 12:30 a.m. Between 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Nauru Tower residents can only access and depart from their homes via Pensacola- Waimanu- &
Piikoi Streets, and entering and exiting our building through the 2A Gate.

Normal traffic should be expected to resume on Kapiolani Blvd, Piikoi Street, Waimanu Street, and Ala Moana Blvd. by 7:30 a.m.
