The 2008 Annual Meeting of the Unit Owners of Nauru Tower will be held at 6:00pm on March 31, 2008, in the Lobby of Nauru Tower.
This is an important day of the year to mark the beginning of the new term, for the owners getting together at one place to reflect upon significant events of the past year, to discuss various issues and challenges expected to arise in the coming year, but most importantly, to elect three new Board members.
However, for us to be able to have this meeting, we must have more than 50% of the owners’ attendance by proxy or by physical presence. This year, if by March 27th (2 days before the date of the meeting, excluding Satuday and Sunday) our proxies do not reach this goal, we must cancel our scheduled Annual Meeting and reschedue it on a new date, and send out another Notice to all of the owners again, which requires additional time and money. Although we would like to avoid getting into such a situation by all means, having a large percentage of overseas owners and absentee owners, this is a recurring difficulty that we face every year.
Therefore, we earnestly request that you fill in the PROXY FORM and send it back to Hawaiiana Management Co, by using the return envelope, so that Hawaiiana will receive it by March 27. Since there is not much time by the deadline, you may use FAX too. Hawaiiana’s FAX NO. is Hawaii (808) 593-6333.
In case you are at a loss to whom you should cast a vote, if you x mark the 3rd box □ and write in “Setsuko Hayakawa” in __________, then, I will be honored to select, and cast your proxy vote for someone I think is most capable and useful for the operation of the Board. (Note: I was elected to serve as a Board Member for 3 years from 2007 until 2010, and am now serving as the Treasurer/ Secretary, and Budget and Finance Chair, Legal and Rules Committee Chair. In my opinion, the Board is very much in need of capable people who are willing to work hard for, and contribute to the Association utilizing their specialized knowledge and/or technology, rather than a person who has mere personal or abstract interest in the operation of the Board.)
